History - The Foundation of Wales-Darby, Inc.

In the winter of 1964, Richard W. Darby was hired by Wales & Ward, Inc. – principally, a plan and specifications representative – to head up their newly formed wholesale division. Working with just one line, the division grew to such proportions that within three years, Mr. Darby was made vice president and one-third partner of Wales & Ward.

In 1974, this wholesale division broke off and Wales-Darby, Inc. was formed.

In the decades that followed, Wales-Darby greatly expanded in both size and manufacturers represented. Today, sons Brian and Stephen operate the company from their 29,000-square-foot facility in Islandia, NY, and their 17,500-square-foot facility in Warren, NJ.
